While in America, the many positive attributes of the Tesla Model 3 are well known and documented, Europe is still growing accustomed to it. Sure, Model 3s are commonplace in the Netherlands or Norway, but in other markets, buyers are still unsure what to make of them (because Tesla is a relatively new brand with no track record on the Old Continent).
You’ve likely already heard that Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Volkswagen boss Herbert Diess during a recent trip to Germany. We learned rather quickly that Musk got to test drive the all-electric VW ID.3 on the airport runway. He also got to check out the upcoming ID.4.

The first reviews of the Jaguar I-PACE came out last week and there’s a lot to digest. I won’t go through most of the information for the sake of repetition but when it was my turn this week to be in a group of 20 journalists to test the car, I noticed that I was one of the only folks with any EV experience.
Several electric automakers are also venturing into the energy generation aspect of charging electric vehicles. Tesla is leading the charge after its acquisition of SolarCity.

I wouldn’t want to be all prosaic when assessing the technological triumph that the Hyundai Ioniq Electric is, but I have to tell you from the outset that it has the best auxiliary controls that I’ve experienced in any new car.
Road trips are the final frontier for EVs to totally outshine combustion engine vehicles. Already clearly a better technology than combustion vehicles in every other aspect, of all the EVs currently on the market, only Tesla so far provides truly compelling road trip ready offerings.
Road testing a wide variety of electric and hybrid cars certainly gives great insights into how the models compare and what there like to drive, albeit short-term tests never give you complete ownership picture.
